The drink orders are mostly basic but there are enough of them to keep you occupied. You catch the occasional glimpse of Lydia and the man conversing at their table. Finally, he catches your eye and they make their way up to the bar.


"Hey buddy," he says, smiling. Lydia also smiles at you from across the bar. You look back between the two of them... hoping for an introduction... something...


"I... uh... I just need to close out my tab," he says. You laugh, but you're startled.


"Right."


You turn around and dig through the credit cards, and there it is. Joseph Shaw. Of course that's not Kyle, that's you. You are actually relieved. You hand the man the card and the bill, and he and Lydia walk out the door and into the night.


The work is steady for the rest of the evening, but people are messy. You use the little free time you have to wipe the sticky goop that crystalizes on the bar as the spilled drinks ferment.


There was an incident at some point. You heard some people shouting something about some broken glass and a pack of dogs down the block, but you didn't pick up exactly what had happened.


The bar closes and you are the last to leave. Home is much farther away than you remember... now that you remember... you live across town with Kyle and John. You can hear someone listening to music down the hall as you walk inside and collapse on the couch.
